History
Founded in 1930, Arrow Safety Device Company has had a long, productive history in the transportation industry. Arrow Safety developed the very first practical turn signal system, and helped engineer today’s government regulated requirements. We are as from the beginning committed to supplying our customers with the best products in the market.
In the 1940’s and 50’s, Arrow expanded its product line and became one of the largest vehicle safety product manufactures in the United States.
The late 1960’s brought the creation of the Department of Transportation. Arrow had a role in establishing SAE requirements that were adopted by the Federal DOT to become legal requirements. Already DOT approved, Arrow Lights introduced a smooth transition for the buying public.
By the early 1970’s, Arrow had raised the bar on industry standards. One such product was the unique all aluminum housing snowplow light called “The Sno-Laser”. This superior, inventive design earned the Sno-Laser a U.S. Patent.
The 1980’s and 90’s expanded the product line with the advent of new technologies in the lighting field. Arrow developed another snowplow light, still used by different snowplow manufacturers, and developed several LED lights. Going into the 21st century, Arrow launched the only manufacturer direct website capable of allowing the customer to order and purchase products online.
Arrow Safety was sold in the late fall of 2008 to a group of independent entrepreneurs and the Georgetown, DE and Mount Holly, NJ locations were combined and moved to our new manufacturing and sales facilities in Selbyville, DE.
